Magnetic is a wireless switching solution that has been specifically added to the modular hardware platform. Magnetic was developed for retrofits, renovations and modernisations where limited installation space, existing cabling or the preservation of the existing switch design are key considerations.

Unlike traditional switch inserts, Magnetic completely eliminates the need for an electrical connection between the rocker and the flush-mounted module. This makes the solution ideal for flat flush-mounted boxes and installation situations where conventional wiring reaches its technical or design limits.

Magnetic switching

The operating principle is deliberately clear and minimalistic:
  • The magnet is located in the rocker switch.
  • The sensors and electronics are housed in the flush-mounted module.

When the rocker switch is actuated, the position of the magnet changes. This change in position is detected without contact by the sensor in the flush-mounted module. No wiring or mechanical coupling between the rocker switch and the module is required.

The result is a wireless switching principle that does not require any moving electrical contacts.

The absence of cables between the rocker switch and the flush-mounted module offers significant advantages during installation:
  • Simpler and faster assembly
  • Less space required in the flush-mounted box
  • Fewer sources of error during installation

The compact flush-mounted module also fits into shallow flush-mounted boxes, making it particularly suitable for refurbishments, renovations and existing buildings.

Ideal for retrofitting and maintaining design integrity

The conversion simply involves integrating a small magnet into the existing rocker switch. No structural modifications, new cabling or design changes are required.

Magnetic was specifically developed for modern switching concepts where existing installations and designs are to be retained. In the case of retrofits, the existing switch range can continue to be used.
