The German Innovation Award (GIA) recognises products across all industries, particularly in terms where added value and user-friendliness stand out from solutions that are currently available. The nominations for both products, which are part of the smart home portfolio of the Sauerland-based company, were already made public at the German Design Council in March of this year.

NEXENTRO - launched in the summer of 2020 - is a solution conceived by Insta to enable the lights, blinds, awnings and electrical devices in any home to be made smart, without any complicated installations. It was this that convinced the GIA jury who duly awarded NEXENTRO with two prizes as being the winners in the categories "Smart Living" and "Design Thinking" within the competitive class for "Excellence in Business to Consumer".

The third and winning award in the category "Lighting Solutions" in the competitive class for "Excellence in Business to Business" went to Smart PUK. This component allows any Plug & Light luminaire to be integrated into standard smart home ecosystems. Centrepiece of Plug & Light is its light socket. With the aid of a magnet, the selected light attachment is simply attached by means of a docking system, can be replaced as wished, is immediately ready for use and is dimmable.

In addition to these award-winning products, Insta currently owns 217 active intellectual property rights and is therefore one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany.
