Warm, down-to-earth, innovative - Insta GmbH has been headquartered in Lüdenscheid in the Sauerland region since it was founded in 1970. This region shapes us and our actions, because we love our beautiful region where we live and work.
The Sauerland is known for its green hills, forests, lakes and valleys. The region offers you many opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, skiing and swimming. You can recharge your batteries on countless hiking trails or test your endurance on a mountain bike. During the winter months, the Wintersport Arena Sauerland, the largest winter sports area north of the Alps, offers a high recreational value.

Alfred Vrieling – a managing director with a clear vision
Alfred Vrieling has been part of the management team at Insta GmbH since May 2023. Initially, Alfred joined the management board alongside Alexander Burgbacher, who retired at the end of April 2025. Alfred Vrieling began his career in the traditional market environment of installation technology. At Spelsberg, he successfully established and expanded the international business before moving to the traditional company Mennekes in the field of electromobility. He also gained experience as VP Sales and Marketing at a publicly traded company. With the realignment of Insta as a partner to switch and system manufacturers as well as industry and a white label OEM product catalog, he is now leading Insta into a successful future.

We are and will remain something very special. Because even our foundation was a milestone in the history of the electronics industry: With a lot of pioneering spirit, the switch and system manufacturers Berker, Gira, and JUNG joined forces over fifty years ago to form a medium-sized cooperation to leverage synergies and pool knowledge. The baby born in 1970 was Insta Elektro GmbH. Since then, the history of Insta has been unparalleled, and those familiar with the installation industry know that you don't need a garage for the Instabus.
The corporate alliance of Gira, JUNG, and Insta continues to thrive, setting new standards year after year in the field of home and building automation, as well as future-proof smart home standards. NEXENTRO –
Simply versatile. Simply installed.
NEXENTRO are Zigbee modules for the flush-mounted box that can be easily integrated into the existing technology without the need for new installation in order to make luminaires, blinds, awnings and electrical consumers smart. Almost every light source from Philips Hue, IKEA Home Smart or other manufacturers can be connected to NEXENTRO, even without a gateway. They can be configured via app and operated as usual via app, voice control or manually via switch. In this way, our actuators become an invisible part of smart living.

Born out of trust

The three companies of Berker, GIRA and Jung jointly founded the company Insta Elektro GmbH. The joint idea behind this cooperation of the medium-sized companies was to allow for cost sharing and to mutually benefit from the development and the production in the field of electronics, serial production of niche components and the creative exchange of ideas over different levels. With the departure of Berker as a shareholder, Insta has been a subsidiary of GIRA and Jung since 2010.
