As an IT specialist for application development, you are our aspiring expert in the field of software development. Your task is to develop customised software solutions for our company and align them with the needs of customers, employees, and departments. You will work closely with other professionals such as other IT specialists for application development, project managers, and fellow apprentices to find the best solutions for Insta.
Your responsibilities as an IT specialist for application development include analysing customer requirements, designing software architectures, coding programs, testing software, and implementing solutions in production.
As a future IT specialist for application development, you will often work on projects and be responsible for implementing subprojects or even the overall solution. You always adhere to quality standards and deadlines.
In addition to your technical skills required for your future work, you must also have good communication skills. You need to be able to explain your technical concepts and solutions to our customers and colleagues in a clear manner and effectively communicate with other team members.
Being an IT specialist for application development at Insta is an exciting and challenging task that requires high technical competence and creativity. You will be part of our IT team and play an important role in developing innovative solutions to optimize business processes at Insta and help us constantly improve.

dual study + apprenticeship = flexible combination
To prepare you optimally for your final exams and your future professional life, you will also attend the Berufskolleg I in Hagen twice a week in addition to your practical apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship typically lasts for three years. However, it can be shortened based on excellent performance during the training.
We offer the following dual study programs in combination with the apprenticeship as an IT specialist for application development (m/f/d):
- Applied Computer Science (B.Sc.) at the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen in Iserlohn
In this degree programme, you first learn the basics of mathematics and information technology. From the fourth semester onwards, you can choose between specialisation in application development, artificial intelligence or system integration. In addition, there are many other subjects that are taught as part of the degree programme.
- Business Informatics (B.Sc.) at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts
This degree programme teaches content and methods from business administration, computer science, social sciences and communications engineering. Here you will be prepared for the tasks of an IT expert and assist specialist departments in solving business management problems.
